Empowering Economic Growth through Enterprise Development

Enterprise development, or ED, is the act of investing time and capital to help people establish, expand or improve businesses. Enterprise development helps people earn a living or find a way out of poverty and leads to long-term economic growth for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Our objective is to help to grow the economy by creating opportunities for existing SMEs to help them to grow and formalise their businesses.

"Tshala" is a Zulu word meaning

"INVEST", "PLANT", or "CULTIVATE".

Sonae Arauco South Africa and The Healing Africa Foundation are working in Association to support and develop carpenters from previously disadvantaged backgrounds to grow and formalise their businesses. To this end, Sonae Arauco South Africa (Pty) Ltd invested in small businesses by allowing entrepreneurs to participate in their Tshala Business Investment Program.

The following carpentry companies were selected and are now part of Tshala Hub; and all are B-BBEE Level 1.
